Gallery IV

A new focus, beginning here.

Portraiture is the newest direction in the work: the same attention to light and angle turned toward a single person rather than a place. This is just beginning of the series, made alongside the landscape and street work rather than separate from it.

Portrait made on a backstreet in Seoul, South Korea.
Plate I Portrait, backstreet, Seoul

Made on a sunlit side street in Seoul, this frame set the direction for where the portrait work is headed: the subject held still against a city that keeps moving around her, the signage and wires overhead doing as much of the storytelling as the expression itself.

It belongs equally to the South Korea gallery, where it sits alongside the rest of that series.
